How old do I have to be to drive?

Before you can learn to drive on public roads you must be 17 and have a valid provisional licence. You can apply for your provisional licence up to three months before your birthday. The easiest way to obtain a provisional license is to apply online at learn to drive a car.

How many lessons will I need?

The Driving Standards Agency research shows that the current average is 45 hours of tuition, with an additional 20 hours private practice to pass. But remember this is only an average, the majority of our students pass with fewer lessons than average. After your first lesson your instructor will be able to give you a more accurate idea of how many you are likely to need.

How long is a lesson?

We recommend 2 hour lessons. These are more productive than shorter periods because proportionally less time is spent briefing/debriefing and driving to and from locations. This leaves more time for learning and developing skills. Students who receive two hour lessons usually require fewer hours in total.

What will it cost?
